Nathan has experience in and cares for patients throughout the entire spectrum of life from very young children to the elderly and all ages in between. He has completed two internationally renowned fellowships which included hip and knee replacement, revision surgery, sports injuries, trauma and fractures, paediatric orthopaedic surgery as well as hip preservation, including dedicated training in hip arthroscopy and periacetabular osteotomy.
Nathan grew up in Adelaide, completing his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery through the University of Adelaide, before undertaking internship and surgical residency across the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre. He was selected for the Australian Orthopaedic Association Surgery Training in South Australia and Northern Territory, and was subsequently admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
Nathan’s dedication to further knowledge and new technique development has led him to complete further learning interstate and overseas, including experience in hip preservation and arthroplasty in Europe and the UK.
Today, Nathan brings the knowledge and expertise he developed across the globe to treat South Australians, based right here in Adelaide.
Nathan continues to be at the forefront of evidence-based practice with multiple research and teaching appointments with the University of Adelaide and Flinders University, as well as the training of the next generation of surgeons (trainee registrar surgeons). Nathan attained his Masters of Clinical Science with a thesis in Orthopaedic surgery, and his research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals.
Waiting time for new patients can be variable depending on the site of referral. Dr Eardley-Harris aims to see all urgent cases within 1-2 weeks of referral where available.
Dr Eardley-Harris sees all patients of all ages with hip, knee and trauma issues. Uninsured, self-funded and privately insured patients can see him at Sportsmed SA. Workcover and third-party insured patients are seen on a case-by-case basis. Public patients can be seen at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, or the Woman's and Children's Hospital.
